Now Working on August 2020 orders
By far my most frequently asked question, and also the most difficult for me to answer. When I have many hundreds of orders on the wait list, there is simply no way that I can accurately forecast how long your wait will be to receive your order. I keep the banner at the top of each page of this site updated with what month's orders I'm currently working on, which serves to give you an idea of how long those customer's wait times were, but it is not a perfect indicator of current wait times.
The wait list exists because the global demand for my work far exceeds my ability to produce. I've tried several times to stop taking orders when my wait list got this long, and every time I do, I get bombarded with emails from folks who are happy to wait, begging me to keep taking orders. So, I do.
Yes. Since January 20th, 2021 there has been rampant inflation in the USA, at levels not seen in my lifetime. My previous prices were set back in 2018, when our economy was thriving and the cost of living was low. I simply couldn't afford to keep living on what I was making based on the 2018 pricing model while in the middle of this economic recession, so some updates were unfortunately needed.
Yes, but only within the first 180 days (around 6 months) after placing the order. I process all orders through paypal, and paypal has a very strict policy that no transactions can be altered after 180 days. For taxation reasons, I cannot refund your deposit after this time period under any circumstances. All orders that stand for 180 days are final.
No. My Celtic Whistles are made from a polymer that I dress to look and feel as if it were wooden, but it is not in fact wooden at all. I designed the Celtic Whistles to have all of the aesthetic appeal of a simple wooden appearance, but none of the challenging upkeep. What exact materials are used in their construction, and how I achieve the woodgrain effect, are closely guarded secrets that I'm not quite ready to share at this time.
For the reasons listed above, I generally decline offers from those wishing to come hang out in the shop with me. I'm not saying that I never will, but at the moment I have no plans to open my shop to visitors.
I'm not available for any emails, orders, or production on Saturdays because I observe the Biblical Sabbath day of rest. More information on this practice can be found in the Bible at Exodus 20:8-11.
This question comes up a lot, due to my sabbath observance. Am I Jewish or Christian? The truth is both, and also neither. I'm actually a Nazarene, according to the ancient definition of that term (not to be confused with the modern denomination by the same name). A term that some are more accustomed to is Messianic Judaism. We believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and we also follow the commands in the law of God (Gen - Deut), not seeing these two things as being mutually exclusive.
"And all the people went up after him, playing on flutes, and rejoicing with such great joy that the earth was split by their noise." - 1 Kings 1:40
